Your baby is born and your
life has taken on new meaning. This little life is yours to care
for and to love. What is more precious than this new little face
that looks up at you?
The first 24-48 hours they change
dramatically in appearance. My hope is to capture that look and
get the pictures to you within 24 hours. Hospital photos are
usually done as you are leaving the hospital. The nurse places
your baby on a hard surface with a large camera looming over
them. You are not in the picture, literally! It gets sent off
to the picture company, without you seeing the photos, you prepay
for them, and in 3-6 weeks, you get your order.
Did you know that in most cases,
the picture company picks out which photo to print! And if you
don't like them, well, they say you can return them for a full
refund. Sounds great, right? Well, first of all, as a new Mom
or Dad, when do they think you'll find the time to wrap the pictures
back up and drive down to the post office to ship them back?
Never mind that these are your only professional pictures of
your baby at that moment! You can't retake them 3-6 weeks later!
Your baby looks totally different now.
I take your newborn's photo with
a digital camera so you can see the previews right away. I then
return home, do any necessary clean up (like removing IVs from
your arms, highlighting with special lighting effects, etc) and
then print them and do my best to return within 24 hours.*
